John Dunaway | Senior Pastor
Pastor John Dunaway has been the senior pastor at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church since February 26, 1989. He came from Scott County, Indiana where he served the Vienna Baptist Church while attending seminary in Louisville, KY.
Pastor John was impressed by the Lord to go into full-time Christian service in 1981 and entered Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY in the fall of 1985. He accepted his call to serve Mt Pleasant in the winter of 1989 and was ordained in June that same year by the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis. Pastor John and his wife, Ellen, have nine children (four boys and five girls). They are blessed to have a cross-cultural family, blended by birth, race and nationality. They are the proud grandparents of ten granddaughters and six grandsons. Pastor John’s vision for Mt. Pleasant has always been to lead our church family in a healthy spiritual journey that is pleasing to the Lord.

Hey there, I’m Mariah! I have spent much of my life in different creative fields such as web design, graphic design, social media management & so much more! I grew up in church as a child but have found my own faith in 2020 here. I am so passionate about my position here & can’t wait to continue assisting in the design aspect of our church!
Rodney Crawford | Director of Youth Ministry
Bethany Hollingsworth | Worship Director
Bethany has served as the Worship Director since 2016. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Grace College and is working on a bachelor’s degree in ministry leadership. She has a great love for the local church and leading others in discovering life in Christ through worship, small group ministry, and biblical hospitality. She has been married to her husband, Drew, since 2007 and they have five awesome kids.
Allison Sells | Office Administrator
Allison and her family have been attending Mt. Pleasant since 2003, and she has been on staff since October 2007. Allison loves being part of a local church community and is grateful for the opportunity to provide administrative support for the ministry. She is a fan of medium roast coffee and dark chocolate, Colts football, and spending time with family and friends.
