After 103 years of worship in the small white-framed church house on Mills Road the family of mpbc held the first worship service on the new seven acres of property (sold by the Lugar family) just north of the intersection of Mills and Mann Roads.  It was Sunday, June 5th, 1966 at 10:30 A.M.; just before the service began the patrons of the church gathered as usual in the little white church and consecrated their past with a song and a prayer and made their way on foot (about 1,000 feet) to the new structure, singing as they journeyed.

It had been a vision cast into the hearts of the people since 1958 when Rev. Clive McGuire lead the people into a unprecedented exploration of ideas and research for a brand new building – something that had not been done since the purchase of the property on Mills road ($1 for one acre) in 1860. When Rev. Ron Kerr was hired as the first full-time pastor in mpbc history on January 1st, 1963 (exactly 100 years after the official charter of the church) plans and fundraising were in full swing – extreme baking, cooking, selling, lifting, singing and praying spanned the course of 3 years until the building was finished and people began what has been 50 years of worship and ministry this Sunday morning – June 5th, 2016 – service begins at 10:30 A.M. (some things never change).
