Living With Generous Hearts

We are diving into a course of study and a time of prayer for our church through the Lent season that, if committed to the task, should prove to be spiritually beneficial to the Kingdom of God.  Now that’s a church!

What are we praying for?  To be a healthy Body of Christ that is faithful in our service, obedient servants living within His will and learning what it truly means to love God and love each other (Matthew 22:37-39).

Using a cinematic worship and teaching series from ReimagineGenerosity.com, “Living Generously”, mpbc will be encouraged to watch for opportunities to live out our faith generously.  How does Jesus want to react to the needs around us?  When we respond, is love the catalyst for our contribution – love for God and for others – or do we respond to gain something for ourselves?

God wants us to realize just how much He has loved us and has provided for our living and, yes, even our dying.  God sacrificed His only Son to make these provisions for all mankind. When we discover and embrace the magnitude of His love then we get the depth and breadth of how our response to the needs of the world are critical to the kingdom of God moving toward those needs.  It’s really our blessing to be a part of His grace and provision.  He gets the accolades and we get the blessing!  That’s what He wants!

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.  In this way, they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.  1 Timothy 6:18, 19
